Vina Maria is delighted to announce that our wines have won a total of 14 medals at the China Wine and Spirits Awards 2018. As well as the eleven gold medals and two bronze medals, Vina Maria is extremely proud to have received a double gold medal for their Vino Tinto 11% Semi-Sweet 2017.

The CWSA ranks among the world’s most influential competitions for wine and spirits producers with China fast emerging as the leading market for wine anywhere on the planet. In addition, the CWSA judges are recruited from China’s most powerful buyers which ensures that each wine selected for a medal has the characteristics necessary to succeed on the Chinese market.

‘China’s thirst for foreign wine and spirits continues to grow and we expect China to be the largest market for wines and spirits within 2 years’, commented a CWSA spokesperson. ‘To help international producers take advantage of this huge opportunity, CWSA brought together the 100 most influential wine and spirits buyers to Judge CWSA 2018.’

Vina Maria’s entries were amongst some 6000 samples from 58 countries which were tasted by the CWSA judges. Our success in this context demonstrates the remarkable quality and suitability of our wines for the Chinese market. Vina Maria already has a strong presence in China and these medals will help us to push forward in this vibrant market.
